It was approximately 762 days ago that I decided I would start writing a blog! I was at the beach for a family vacation, (doing a little work of course) and I stumbled across the world of interior design blogs. I was not only surprised, but also inspired by the content. I proceeded to spend several hours a night for weeks acquainting myself with the world of blogging! I thought this would be a great way to document my design adventures, connect with a larger design community, and share a little of my experiences the process.
Life and work have certainly kept me busy the past 2 years, but honestly the primary delay in starting The Journal was that it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I don’t advertise, I guard my clients’ privacy, and I just recently added a sign to my office, after 9 years of business. My work and creative process are very personal for me, so the idea of sharing my inspirations, travels, and business with the worldwide web feels a bit foreign. But, the more time I spent reading the blogs I frequent, the more I respected the designers, authors and content behind them. They motivated me to share my travels, things I have learned along the way, my interiors, and what and who inspire me. I also realized that I have been blessed to work with some wonderful clients, talented architects, fabulous homes, and inspiring locations, and I would likely regret not documenting aspects of my work, hence the name The Journal.
I am sure The Journal will be a work in progress, but I intend to post only when there is something of interest to share. I invite you to check back as often as you would like, or you can receive an email with new post updates by subscribing here. You can also find Tammy Connor Interior Design on Facebook and Twitter.
In closing, I am reminded of the theme song of one of my daughters favorite cartoons, The Cat in the Hat.
Here we go, go, go, go on an adventure. The thing-a-ma-jigger is up and a way…..
After 762 days, that happily sums up my sentiment!

So nice meeting you last week. I have long admired the beauty, ease, and grace of your interiors, and I am looking forward to reading your blog!
Hi Tammy! This summer I was out to dinner with my best friend, Mindy Reed. I’ve been blogging for a little over a year about family, house stuff, and inspiring interiors. I’m not a designer, just a stay at home momma that appreciates cozy and classic homes. Mindy mentioned you and your work. I looked up your portfolio as soon as I got home and searched for your blog. I flipped! Your designs are gorgeous! Your blog wasn’t up yet, and I couldn’t “pin” your pictures. So glad that has now all changed!! I would love to feature you on my blog if you are game. Please let me know. I only have about 5000 readers which is small potatoes in blogging, but I know they’d adore your work too.
Tessa
